Francis Mary of the Cross (John Baptist) Jordan (16 June 1848 – 8 September 1918) was a Roman Catholic priest and the founder of the Salvatorian Roman Catholic religious order – The Society of the Divine Savior.
John Baptist Jordan was born in Gurtweil, Germany. On 21 July 1878, he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest.[1] On 8 December 1881 in Rome, he founded the Salvatorian order. He died in Tafers Switzerland. In 1956 he was exhumed and transferred to the Salvatorian Motherhouse in Rome. In 1942 was introduced the process for his beatification. On January 14, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI authorized the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to publish the decree on the heroicity of virtues.[2]
